Drones
I actually started off flying helicopters… a Thunder Tiger Raptor 450 and then to an Align T-Rex 250 and an Align T-Rex 550E.
I then got into flying drones after watching a video from Team Black Sheep, on one of their Discovery’s. So I bought one… I also got one of their Crossfire Tx & Diversity Rx to make sure I have control no matter the distance. I use a Taranis D9+ transmitter because of it’s versatility. One time I flow it over 3 miles away before having to turn round due to battery power… it was touch-go as to whether I could get it back to me. Well it didn’t make it but I managed to put it down in a field and jumped in the car to go and retrieve it. I then invested in some larger capacity batteries. For the video, I used the TBS Unify Pro HV 2.4GHz and the TBS Groundstation with the Yagi beam which converted it to 5.8GHz for the Fatshark googles. I have now upgraded it to a Pro version by getting a, what was described as a damaged, secondhand one from eBay. Now the was no controller but I put my DJI Naza V2 in and it worked perfectly!! 🙂
I then started flying a 5″ quad with a group of friends around the local park.
Now I fly my two Tiny Whoops type quads from NewBeeDrone, one is the AcroBee Lite and the other one is the Hummingbird. All my drones are using TBS Crossfire system for piece of mind and because I love this system.
The newest acquisition is a DJI Mini Pro 3 with RC Pro controller as a treat to myself after passing my A2 CoC.
